Springing forward

Life has been crazy the past few months for sure, but I didn’t expect the time change to have such an odd effect on me. The “spring forward” in Mexico happened a couple of weeks ago, and with it the temperature took a jump, throwing us into the warmest month of the year.

The combination seemed to knock my mood and sleep cycles way off. So, this weekend I retreated from my writing and did a little more reading.

I stumbled upon a lovely Beauty and the Beast retelling, called Bellamy and the Brute, by Alicia Michaels. This modern-day adventure includes ghosts, crooked politicians and the mafia. Bellamy and Tate are a delight and so is the supporting cast. I shall definitely dive into the next book of the series.

If you love fairytale retellings, especially Beauty and the Beast, as I do, then I think you’ll be in for a treat with this one.
